It may sound naive, but what does the name mean? McLaren for you ?
It is a great source of pride to bear this name. McLaren is the oldest team still in operation in Formula 1, behind those I like to call “the two red cars” (Ferrari started racing in 1947 and McLaren followed in 1966. Ed.)! This may seem obvious, but once extremely prestigious names in motorsport have disappeared over time, such as Brabham, Tyrrell or Lotus. My father's other great passion was sports cars. If he developed the M6 GT (in 1969. Ed.), it was with the aim of participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which they had won in 1966 with Ford. Unfortunately, his death (on June 2, 1970 at the Goodwood circuit. Editor's note) as well as the modification of the regulations banning Group 4s, of which the M6 GT was a part, put an end to this project.
