With just over 63 km of timed stages and 4 SS, the finale of the 2024 Tour de Corse historique could still have some surprises in store. However, there were none.

As throughout this week, Julien Saunier and his navigator Frédéric Vauclare managed events well. Preserving his Porsche In the most degraded sections, the 42-year-old driver calmly headed towards the podium to win his first success in Corsica. When I was a Youth Rally in 2004, we came to do the rally from Corte and this had been my only race in Corsica, he explained in the arrival area. I am really happy to have won the Tour. It is a legendary event. We approached it with this objective, but the car was ready at the last moment. We knew how to manage the events by controlling our lead and taking care of the 911. I think that if Olivier Capanaccia had not had his problems, he would have been more dangerous. I would like to come back and do the Tour again in the years to come with perhaps better preparation, because we decided to do it only a few days ago. "While Capanaccia would have absolutely had his say in the victory without a computer problem on his magnificent BMW M3 Evorace, it was ultimately Tom Pieri who put the pressure on Saunier. The Marseillais acknowledged that it would still have been complicated to beat the Porsche. " First of all, I remember the pleasure I had in the special stages and at the wheel of this M3., he smiled. I think that even without our problems, it would have been very difficult to compete with Julien who rode very well. I don't know what my future holds, but racing in historic racing really appeals to me and I could well continue in this direction. "He will meet Alain Oreille there if he decides to come back next year." I do one rally a year, smiled the mustachioed man in the superb Porsche Joffroy. During this edition, I found that the level had progressed again. However, we are again on the podium with a car that has not had a single alert. Every year I say that it is the last, so we will see… »

The Mancini family, Jérôme and Jean-François had a very solid week to secure a nice 4eThey got ahead of Anthony Fotia who could have had regrets, because a podium finish was possible without an injector problem. I discovered the Tour and I had a great time, he agreed. These roads are made for special stages. If I ever come back to compete in this event, I hope I will have had time before to prepare better than this year. »

Finally, for his baptism on the island, Jos Verstappen noted many positive things: “ The times are magnificent and it's a great rally., he summed up. Racing it in a Porsche is a big challenge. I haven't decided yet what we're going to do, but the door is not closed to come back here in the years to come." A competitor at heart, the Dutchman will probably start this time with other ambitions than those of this year.
