12 Hours of Sebring 1954Another line on his list of achievements, far removed from the world of single-seaters, but just as prestigious. A patriot and devotee of British brands, Stirling Moss nevertheless made a few forays with foreign manufacturers, the very first dating back to the fourth edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring, the first weekend of March 1954. He was at the wheel of an OSCA MT4 1450. Behind this acronym, which disappeared in 1967, lay a three-way partnership.

Perhaps missing is the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix, closing the season, contested in front of 100.000 spectators on the urban circuit (already!) of Ain-Diab in Casablanca, which he won ahead of Mike Hawthorn, the latter being crowned Champion (the first Englishman to be crowned) by... only one point after the worst results were counted!

The 1955 British Grand Prix around Aintree Racecourse, Stirling Moss's first F1 victory in front of 150.000 spectators... which goes to show that the love of F1 across the Channel is nothing new!
