Historic Tour de Corse – Jos Verstappen: “There are more corners here than in our entire season in Belgium”

Is this your first time in Corsica?

What were your impressions?

We had a lot of rain during the reconnaissance and they are predicting more for the race. Apart from that it is completely different from anything I have ever done. Everything is new. Do you think you will enjoy the exercise?

I hope so. That's why we're in Corsica anyway. It'll be a good experience.

Was it difficult to make notes?

I have a good navigator (laughs, pointing to Renaud Jamoul sitting next to him). What is difficult is that the turns follow one after the other. This is not at all what we have in Belgium.

Have you been able to do any tests on this type of terrain?

Not at all. We did 1,5 km of testing. It's not enough to get an idea.

What goals have you set for yourself?

We're going to do everything to have fun, to try to gain confidence while learning the car. I have to adapt to the circumstances.

Was the Tour de Corse something you followed when it was on the calendar? WRC ?

At that time I was too busy with a lot of other things, so I wasn't really watching what was going on. rally.

Is this participation with the ambition of returning?

We'll see. I'll gain experience first and I can't say what will happen after that. We'll talk about it at the end of the week.
