Almost a month before the release of the next opus of the EA Sports – Codemasters saga, F1 23 (released June 16), the game developers have revealed a new video with never-before-seen images. Five minutes of exclusive gameplay to show and explain the new features introduced in F1 23 compared to its predecessor.
The main new feature of this 2023 opus is the physics of the game. In collaboration with the 10 F1 teams, braking, grip in corners and re-acceleration have been reworked. According to EA Sports, “developments have been made to the physical calculations regarding tire slip and their interaction with the inertia of the car. Additionally, the way each car's engine delivers torque has been refined, with more progressive steps depending on gear ratio and throttle. »

EA Sports is also promoting the introduction of “Precision Drive” technology for controller players to enhance their driving experience. Gameplay level, several new features: in addition to new displays even more faithful to those used by F1 in real life, F1 23 will welcome the return of red flags, absent from the saga since F1 2014! Red flags could be deployed in the event of dire weather conditions, an accident or a car stuck on the track. Players will also have the opportunity to choose a new race distance, at 35% of the official distance used during official Esports competitions.
Finally, this new trailer shows the first images of two new circuits: Las Vegas (United States) and Losail (Qatar). The first winds through the streets of Sin City, with the famous long straight of the Strip. The second, already used by Formula 1 in 2021, makes its appearance in the saga of the F1 games, which had been absent from F1 2021. Three non-championship circuits are also present in F1 23: Paul-Ricard (France), Shanghai (China) and Portimão (Portugal).
