Virtual Grand Prix: the grid is taking shape

The first names of the participants in the first virtual Grand Prix of the year have been announced.

F1 returns… virtually. Great animation of the confinement last spring, the championship of Formula 1 on console returns with the first virtual Grand Prix of the year this Sunday, January 31.

Reigning champion, George Russell has been confirmed by Williams for the opening meeting. The Grove stable has not changed its line-up since Nicholas latifi will once again complete the duo.

At Red Bull, Alex Albon, now a reserve pilot, will represent the interests of the Austrian firm. Unlike his friend George Russell, the Thai will not be accompanied by a car or motorcycle driver: Jeffrey Herling.

Brothers Pietro and Enzo Fittipaldi will be present with Haas F1 Team, the team with which the first city made its debut in the premier category in 2020.

On the Tricolor side, Alpine will be represented by two members of the academy Renault : Christian Lundgaard and Oscar piastri, pilots F2 in 2021. They will participate with the RS20 in its 2020 livery. Footballer Thibaut Courtois will do the same but at Alfa Romeo.

The complete grid will be communicated in the coming days.

This first virtual meeting will take place on the Spielberg circuit in Austria. This Grand Prix will also allow the teams to share 100.000 dollars (nearly 83.000 euros) with various charities.
