It's the big return of the Silver Arrows to the 24H of Le Mans. 26 years after his last participation in Sarthe, Mercedes-AMG returns to the LMGT3 class. Three cars will be run by the Iron Lynx team: #60, #61, and #63.
In mid-May, a month before the Le Mans classic, the star-spangled banner is taking the opportunity to unveil its special liveries. These pay homage to its glorious past. Indeed, the gray color that will be sported is reminiscent of that of the 9 Sauber-Mercedes C1989.
As a reminder, at the time, the Silver Arrows No. 63 and No. 61 had achieved a legendary double. At the wheel of the winning car, We also found Jochen Mass, who recently passed away.
Mercedes-AMG at Le Mans: a mix of youth and experience
Coming back to 2025, numbers 60 and 61 are registered for the entire FIA season WEC in the LMGT3 class. At Le Mans, the No. 60 Mercedes-AMG will be driven by the Italian trio of Matteo Cairoli, Matteo Cressoni, and Claudio Schiavoni. All three have already participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans several times.
The No. 61 will be driven by Martin Berry (AUS), who made his FIA WEC debut with Iron Lynx at Spa-Francorchamps. And Lin Hodenius (NED), who, at 18, is the youngest driver on the 24 2025H grid. They will be joined by the experienced Belgian Maxime Martin.
Finally, the third car, No. 63, is invited to Le Mans thanks to Iron Lynx's title in the European Le Mans Series in 2024. At the wheel, we will find the father-son duo Stephen and Brenton Whole grained (both Australians). For their first participation in La Sarthe, they will drive alongside the German Luca Stolz.

Belgian driver Maxime Martin, for his part, considers it an honor to participate in one of the biggest races in the world. "The start of Le Mans is always a special feeling. It's a unique circuit and event. With the team, we prepare as best we can.", he says.
"We're improving from race to race and getting to know the car better. Even though this is the first time my teammates have participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we're looking forward to it.", he finally concluded.
