  • Things are already going quickly at Le Mans, very quickly in fact. By signing the best lap of this Sunday's Test Day in 3:26.907, Kévin Estre was almost three seconds better than last year's reference time, which was established by the Ferrari 499P n°51 in 3:29.504. A car which won in Sarthe a week later…
  • Is the Frenchman's time, set at the start of the afternoon, a harbinger of a future 20th victory for Porsche on the double clock tower at Le Mans? It is still far too early to tell, and a lot of things could happen during the 24 hours of racing, but the Stuttgart firm demonstrated all its collective strength by placing its three official cars in the top 4.
  • Behind the No. 6 of the Estre trio, André Lotterer and Laurens Vanthoor, it was the No. 4 of Mathieu Jaminet, Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy which took second place almost half a second away (+ 0.449). The third point of the Porsche Penske Motorsport trident, the No. 5 of Frédéric Makowiecki, Matt Campbell and Michael Christensen set the fourth time of the day, 0.866 seconds from first place.
  • Toyota is the only other manufacturer to have placed a car within the same second as the #6 Porsche. Brendon Hartley has thus placed the GR010 Hybrid n°8 which it shares with Sébastien Buemi and Ryo Hirakawa in third position, 0.708 seconds behind.
  • Defending holder, Ferrari completed the top 5 with the No. 50 of Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina, 1.107 seconds from the lead.
  • The #15 BMW remained in its garage for a long time to change its engine after a mechanical problem. She was finally able to take the track with fifty minutes remaining in the allotted time.
  • The Test Day ended five minutes earlier than expected with a Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota No. 7) at Indianapolis, triggering a red flag.
  • On the side of French manufacturers, the best performance is to be put on the side of Peugeot 9X8 n°94, 13th at 2.419 seconds from the lead.
  • Both Alpine finished in 17th and 20th places, just ahead of the second Peugeot (21st). Proton Competition and Isotta Fraschini brought up the rear in the Hypercar category.
  • In LM P2, Oliver Jarvis was fastest at the wheel of the No. 22 United Autosports Oreca in 3:34.704. Frenchman Sébastien Baud set the reference time in GT3 with the No. 06 Corvette Z82 in 3:59.883.
  • See you Wednesday at 14:00 p.m. for Free Practice 1 of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024.

6 Porsches at the start, how many on the podium and certainly one on the first step!
