A Chinese manufacturer is aiming to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Chinese manufacturer Chery has taken a major step in the world of motorsport. The group has formalized a five-year strategic partnership with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the first large-scale collaboration between a Chinese manufacturer and one of the most prestigious events on the global calendar.

Chery has announced its intention to enter the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans within five years.The agreement, signed on December 13 in Kuala Lumpur between EXEED, Chery's premium brand, and the ACO, gives rise to the "Road to Le Mans This project aims to propel Chery onto the world stage of endurance racing, leveraging its 28 years of engineering expertise.

A Chinese manufacturer wants to become a legend at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

EXEED's five-year plan will unfold in three stages:

1. Create a national endurance series to develop technical skills and local talent.

2. Participate in the Asian Le Mans Series.

3. To establish an EXEED factory team for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the objective of becoming the first Chinese manufacturer to field an official car.

The partnership also includes the joint development of a Le Mans certified circuit in Wuhu, Chery's home city, to encourage the practice and promotion of motorsport in China.

Chery emphasizes the technological aspect of this collaboration: the data from the endurance test will be directly used to improve its production vehicles, particularly regarding the efficiency, durability and reliability of the powertrains.

With this program, Chery confirms its desire to move from the status of a vehicle exporter to that of a global player in automotive technology, using motorsport as a laboratory for its innovations of tomorrow.

This is the first time such an agreement has been announced between a manufacturer and the ACO, although the latter has made no comment on the matter.
