Exclusive interview – Loïc Duval: “In the heat of the moment, you can never savor it enough”
On the eve of the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, Loïc Duval stopped by the AUTOhebdo studio. Winner of the legendary race in 2013, and boasting a career built across Europe, the United States, and Japan, the Peugeot driver looked back on some of his greatest memories while also discussing his future. Hello Loïc, you are entering your 4th yeare Participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Peugeot since your return to the WEC. Why did you decide to come back in 2022 specifically?
Because they were kind enough to have me (Laughter) More seriously, this happened at a time when endurance racing was at a low point. There weren't many manufacturers represented anymore. Endurance racing is my core business, and I had a strong desire to return to it after the end of the Audi program. (end of 2016. Editor's note).When Peugeot announced its return, I thought about it. They thought about me too. We met, we talked, and that was that. I had the good fortune to win my first major endurance race driving a Peugeot, the 908, with Nicolas Lapierre and Olivier Panis at Sebring in 2011.
