Zak Brown: “I’m really excited to be here at Le Mans. I love coming to this race. It’s one of the most iconic races in the world. Of course, we won it when we started 30 years ago. We set the bar really high, and to be competing for the Triple Crown again, in what we believe are the three most important forms of motorsport in the world, is very exciting. Of course, to do it with United Autosports and my best friend Richard (Dean). You know, he’s earned it. We’ve won this race a few times. They’re a top prototype team. So I’m really happy. Everything just fell into place.”
You regularly talk about the Triple Crown. Do you think you could win it in the same year?
I would be very happy to do it. Quite simply. To do it in a single year would be, yes, historic. So we will definitely give it a shot. I think we will have very strong teams in all three series. We will see.
Do you think the project will have a future? IMSA in the USA ?
I think IMSA is definitely a conversation we're having, one step at a time. We haven't won the Indy 500 or the championship yet. IndyCar, which is a goal. So we want to make sure that nothing disrupts our team of Formula 1, IndyCar or WEC, but it's a championship that we find phenomenal and very exciting. And the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring,... So, one step at a time. We have to settle in here. But it's really a conversation we're having.
