Who said the Japanese lack humor? Just before starting the free practice of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024, the Toyota Gazoo Racing presented two new stickers on its GR010 Hybrids entered in Hypercar. It's not about sponsors, it's about… dogs' mouths.

The little cute stickers were stuck above the names of the three drivers of two racing cars. Kamui Kobayashi, driver of the No. 7 in the company of José Maria Lopez and Nyck de Vries, explains this funny idea.
“The six Toyota Gazoo Racing drivers sought to express the character of each crew in a fun way, indicates the winner of the Mans in 2021. The #7 Toyota chose a chihuahua because the drivers are all smaller in size than the trio in the #8 (Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa. Editor’s note). And we opted for the Doberman on #8 because their faces are a little longer! »
In 2023, Toyotas carried a branch of cherry blossoms to bring them luck while sending a nod to Japanese culture. A charm that was not effective, because they were beaten by Classic Ferrari for sale in the Centenary edition. As for whether these two canine stickers will remain on the Toy' bodywork, Kamui Kobayashi leaves the choice to the fans.
