Diuguid (Porsche): “Our cars were flawless from start to finish”

You looked strong in the second half of the race. Did you expect to finish second?

No, I would say the best way to describe this race is that it was very eventful. There were times when I thought we were going to win, others when I thought we would finish last, and then again moments when the podium seemed within reach. And it all kept evolving throughout the day. Sometimes it's dictated by circumstances... but the bottom line is that our cars were flawless from start to finish. No technical issues, nothing that really put us in difficulty or caused us to lose time. And most of the drivers did a good job. The team in Car 6 made no mistakes: zero penalties, no exits... That's what put them in a position to fight until the end.

Are you surprised by the performance of Ferrari on the race?

Nothing surprised me. They're incredibly well organized. The cars are very reliable, as we saw today. They kept the pace for 24 hours. I looked on my phone, I think we finished only 10 laps off the distance record. There were very few slow zones and only one safety car. It was a truly impressive race.

Positive point: cars #4 and #5 had no problems.

No, nothing major. They lacked a bit of pace at certain times during the day. We also had a few penalties imposed on the drivers, which didn't help. And during the safety car cycles, it had an impact too.

On the other hand, number 6 was disqualified from qualifying...

Obviously, it wasn't ideal. It wasn't intentional. But in the end, I don't think it had a real impact: Kevin was already in the top 10 after 5 laps, and the car was in the top 3 in the next stint. It clearly had pace from the start. It was unfortunate, but we were focused on the race, and they got a very good result.
