McLaren and Inception Racing take pole position in LMGT3

In the LMGT3 category, it was the #70 McLaren from the Inception Racing team which took pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans thanks to Brendan Iribe.

McLaren and Inception Racing take pole position in LMGT3

McLaren take care of his return to Sarthe! Inception Racing took pole position 24H of Le Mans 2024 in the LMGT3 category thanks to Brendan Iribe on the #70 McLaren. This is the first time that the British brand has taken a class pole position at the Le Mans event, making its return to Le Mans after a 26-year absence.

However, the American had a big scare at the start of the session: on a flying lap, the McLaren driver made a mistake... in the last corner, at Ronnement, spinning off! More fear than harm for the poleman of the day, who then improved in the following lap by setting a time of 3'58″120.

Second place goes to Aliaksandr Malykhin: the Belarusian, who rides under a Christophian license in WEC, failed eight tenths from pole position on the Porsche n°92 from the Manthey PureRxcing stable. The Top 3 is completed by the Classic Ferrari for sale No. 62 of the JMW Motorsport team, driven by Giacomo Petrobelli.

A very varied ranking at the top, since there are five manufacturers in the first five places with the No. 77 Ford Mustang in 4th position and theAston Martin Vantage #27 in 5th place. The second Aston Martin, that of D'Station Racing, will start 6th on Saturday, ahead of the No. 82 Corvette and the No. 60 Lamborghini.
