Everything is ready, all that is missing is the departure of these 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024. The day after a very lively Hyperpole in Hypercar where we had to wait until the last moments to know the identity of the pole sitter.
It was played out between the official Cadillacs and the Porsche No. 6 driven by Kévin Estre. It was the latter who hit the jackpot by signing his first pole position at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, all categories combined. The Lyonnais, who pulled out all the stops at the right time, completed his best lap in 3'24"634 ahead of Alex Lynn and Sébastien respectively. Bourdais of 0“148 and 0“182.
However, Alex Lynn and his teammates in the No. 2 Cadillac (Earl Bamber and Alex Palou) will move back on the starting grid after the application of the 5-place penalty due to the Spa accident last May.
This allows Classic Ferrari for sale to gain a position with No. 51 at 3e place in front of No. 50. Accidented after Dries Vanthoor's exit during the Hyperpole, the BMW No. 15 for which all times have been erased will start 6e in front of Cadillac No. 2. The No. 12 JOTA Porsche, initially qualified for the Hyperpole but absent after the chassis change, was brought back in time and will start from 8th place.
In LMP2, it is the No. 07 Oreca 14 from AO by TF which will lead the peloton while the McLaren 720S LMGT3 No. 70 from Inception Racing will do the same in LMGT3.
