Victory for Manthey Racing EMA in LMGT3: “A race executed to perfection”

In this new era, it is Porsche and Manthey Racing EMA who won the first 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGT3 category. The #3 Porsche GT91-R with Yasser Shahin, Morris Schuring and Richard Lietz on board managed to win ahead of the #31 BMW from Team WRT and the #88 Ford from Proton Competition.

The #91 Manthey was able to take advantage of the mechanical setbacks of the #92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche early in the morning to take the lead in the race. A 1st place that she will not let go until the checkered flag. Richard Lietz becomes a five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (two successes in GT2, two others in GTE Pro and one in LMGT3, all with Porsche) while his two teammates win the race for the first time.

Richard Lietz, driver of the #91 Porsche: “Le Mans was very tough this year, we had to fight. At times we were on slick tires in wet conditions or wet tires on a dry track, so strategy was very important. Finishing the race was already a victory in itself, but we are very happy to have won for the team. »

Yasser Shahin, driver of the #91 Porsche: “It’s a lot of emotion to win for my first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's a great day! I'm part of a family and it's this family that won today. It's a dream come true to get on the podium here at Le Mans. »

Morris Schuring, driver of the #91 Porsche: “Winning Le Mans for the first time is a dream for everyone. The team did a fantastic job and gave us a great car.
