Last January, a few days before the 24 Hours of Daytona, Wayne Taylor was ambitious. The founder and boss of the team of the same name dreamed big in 2025: once again associated with Cadillac in IMSA, The South African did not hide his desire to go to Le Mans with a V-Series.R – something that was not possible with Acura ARX-06, whose involvement is limited to the North American championship.
“That would be really huge. We just got these cars. We have to be careful not to rush and be organized enough and have the knowledge to go there, because I don’t want to embarrass anyone, confided Wayne Taylor, winner of the 24H of Le Mans 1998 in the LM P1 category, but who never entered his team in the Le Mans classic. With a longer term contract, it's good. But we will try everything if we get this invitation, to be there. Our intention is to go there."

Now, this dream has become a reality. With the announcement of the list of entries for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2025, the name Wayne Taylor Racing does indeed appear in the Hypercar category, which brings the Cadillac contingent – composed of two JOTAs, an Action Express Racing and therefore a WTR – to four cars in the premier class. To the great joy of the South African manager.
“Our goal has always been to go to Le Mans with a real chance of winning the overall standings. When I was there with Cadillac in 2002, I was driving and my two children were there as spectators. Now, 20 years later, they are here, driving for me with Cadillac. It’s extremely exciting.”, rejoiced Wayne Taylor a few hours after the officialization of his commitment to the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The South African will indeed have the honor of living this dream with his two sons, Ricky Taylor and Jordan Taylor, who will drive aboard the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing n°101 in the company of Filipe Albuquerque.
We're excited and honored to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of Cadillac Racing's four-car effort.

"Cadillac has built an exceptional race car. This event is of the utmost importance, and to be competitive you have to come in with all the elements in place. I am confident that we now have the car to beat, says the founder of the American team, who has the ambition to fight at the forefront despite his team's inexperience in Sarthe. With the combination of Cadillac and our partners at JOTA and Action Express Racing, we have a very strong organization. We are grateful for the opportunity to compete at Le Mans.” On June 14, Wayne Taylor Racing and its founder will not be at the start just to make up the numbers: the ambition to get a result is clear and assumed, with a Cadillac V-Series.R which seems to reach the age of maturity with solid performances in WEC and in IMSA.
