The qualifying session of the 4 Hours of Portimão was marked by the exit from the track of Theo Pourchaire. The pilot Peugeot ended his session in the tire wall with his No. 25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca 07, causing a red flag. Matteo Cairoli (Iron Lynx – Proton) set the benchmark time with a time of 1:30.771. The Italian beat Mathys Jaubert (IDEC Sport) by just 0.043 seconds. In the fight for the title, VDS Panis Racing will start from fifth place this Sunday.

As has often been the case this season, Giorgo Roda (Proton Competition) was the fastest Bronze medalist in LMP2 Pro/Am with a best lap of 1:32.467. The Italian was just 0.044 seconds ahead of American PJ Hyett (AO Racing). Gillian Henrion was the fastest in LMP3 with a 1:37.923 to take pole position in the class in the Ligier JS P325 – Toyota No. 15 of RLR M Sport.
A first red flag was raised at the very end of the LMGT3 round following Charles-Henri Samani's excursion. This neutralization prevented a possible pole position for the Iron Dames, as Célia Martin saw her lap interrupted while she was improving on the best brand. Under these circumstances, pole position went to the No. 82 TF Sport Corvette Z06 after a lap of 1:43.446 set by Hiroshi Koizumi.
Meet at 15:50 p.m. this Sunday for the start of the 4 Hours of Portimão.
