The ELMS (European Le Mans Series) is holding its Rookie Test on Sunday, the day after its finale, in Portimão. Frenchman Sami Meguetounif will be driving in LMP2.

Meguetounif and Jarno Trulli's son at the ELMS Rookie Test

A few days ago, we wondered about the future of Sami Meguetounif after the end of his adventure in Formula 2 with Trident. In a video posted on his Instagram account, the Frenchman detailed his prospecting leads and announced his future participation in the Rookie Test of theELMS, scheduled for this Sunday, October 19, on the Portimão circuit.

The entry list confirms the presence of the Marseillais and specifies in which car he will be in: it will be in the Oreca 07 nº18 of IDEC Sport in LMP2. Enzo Trulli, son of the former driver of F1 Jarno will also be racing in this category, with Algarve Pro Racing. Sébastien Baud, entered with McLaren and United Autosports in the GT3 category of the WEC, will also be present in LMP2 with Duqueine.

Four women present for this Rookie Test

Several female drivers will have the opportunity to test in LMP3: British driver Chloe Chong, a Rodin Motorsport F1 Academy driver, will be driving the No. 17 CLX Motorsport Ligier JS P325. Sisters Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi will also drive a Ligier JS P3 for Team Virage, alongside their father Khaled. They are competing with this team in the Ligier European Series this season. The two Emirati drivers have already had the opportunity to test at the upper level, in LMP2, this year.

Oskar Kristensen, nephew of the legend of 24 Hours of Le Mans Tom will have the opportunity to drive in LMP3, at Racing Spirit of Léman. Driver of Formula 3, the Peruvian Matías Zagazeta will discover the piloting of a Ferrari 296 LMGT3, just like the Swiss Léna Bühler.
