Four years after his last freelance work in ELMSThe time for reunions has come for Dorian PinBut since 2022, the status of the "Pocket Rocket" has changed considerably. At the time competing in LMGTE with the Iron Dames, the French driver now competes in LMP2 Pro/Am. She takes the wheel of the #30 Oreca for the French Duqueine Team, which she shares with Italian Giorgio Roda and Dutchman Richard Verschoor.
To launch her season under the best possible conditions, Doriane Pin is focusing on tire management at the Catalan circuit. To perform well in Barcelona, you obviously need to be in the right setup window, but I think tire management is fundamental here. insists the Parisian woman on the AUTOhebdo microphone. Especially the front left, which degrades a lot because there are many right-hand corners and it's a fairly abrasive track, so there's a lot of tire degradation. That will be key to performing well in the race. There's also an unlimited number of sets of tires available during the race, so we'll have to do a double stint or use the same set of tires. We're still discussing the best strategy to adopt to maintain the best conditions for the end of the race. »
The race looks all the more challenging as the weather could disrupt the French driver's plans. It's supposed to rain on Sunday, so we might not be on slicks at all, but only on rain tires, so we'll see. It would be the first time in the rain with this car, and certainly for Richard as well, so I think there's some work to do beforehand to prepare for Sunday. »
Third in FP1 and then seventh in FP2, the No. 30 Oreca entered by Duqueine already seems to be in a good rhythm, which still needs to be confirmed in the race.

Enough with Doriane Pin! It took her two years to win, and that was only against other women, so her driving talent... It's all just publicity and marketing. She should go meditate in F3; she'll be at the back of the grid. She sees herself in F1? It's laughable. She's a development driver; what experience can she possibly offer Russell or Antonelli? Nothing. In short, we need to stop pushing her to the top; she'll never reach it.
