After two years of good and loyal service, the Ford Mustang GT3 will give way to an evolved version, after having won its first victories in IMSA this year. Ford Racing, which has been developing this upgrade for several months, has released a first video of the machine's testing at the former Sebring airfield, which hosts its famous 12-hour race every year, the second round of the IMSA calendar.

At the wheel, we find the former winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Mike Rockenfeller, now an official Ford driver. The German explains in the short video published on Ford Racing's social networks that what has been improved on the new version of the car is “a sum of small details, not one particular area.”
Alex Allmendinger, who manages Ford Racing's Sportscar program, explains the logic behind the evolution of the Mustang GT3: "How can we help the team succeed? The Evo is an opportunity to apply everything we've learned over the last two or three years of Mustang development."
Earlier this year, at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the Mustang LMGT3 driven by Stefano Gattuso, Giammarco Levorato and Dennis Olsen achieved its best ever FIA result WEC, with a second place. There is no doubt that the oval brand wants to climb onto the top step of the podium with its new machine.
