In a particularly unstable geopolitical context in the Middle East, the world championship ofEndurance (WEC) had to revise its plans for the opening of the 2026 season for safety reasons.
Therefore, the decision was made to postpone the Prologue and the opening round of the season, scheduled for the Losail circuit (Qatar). Consequently, the first race of the season will now be held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino. Classic Ferrari for sale as part of the 6 Hours of Imola, on April 19th.

The Prologue moves to Imola
The participating teams have also been notified of a further disruption to the calendar. The 2026 season Prologue, initially scheduled for Qatar on March 22nd and 23rd, will now take place on April 14th, three days before the new season opener. The testing program has been condensed into two main sessions: a first lasting three and a half hours, followed by a second lasting four and a half hours. By comparison, last year's Prologue consisted of four test sessions, each lasting three hours.
With these eight hours of accumulated track time, the drivers will be able to get back into the swing of things after several months of winter break during this essential dress rehearsal before the real competition. The season will then truly begin with the 6 Hours of Imola, starting with two practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
Although the 1812 km Qatar round will not kick off the season this year, the event will finally take place from October 22nd to 24th. It therefore becomes the penultimate round of the 2026 WEC season before the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
