Ferrari has just announced a new multi-year agreement with Phil Hanson for the 2026 season. The Briton will join the ranks of Maranello to support the organization in its programs ofEndurance. Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2025 with the 499P #83, he officially joins the Prancing Horse family after a season as a private driver.
“I am extremely proud to join Ferrari as an official driver and to continue my journey in the FIA championship.” WEC, Phil Hanson confides via the official announcement. I have admired Ferrari since childhood, but it was only by working alongside Ferrari in 2025 that I was able to appreciate the team's relentless pursuit of victory. I am honored to be able to continue building on the success achieved last season, but above all, to be part of the Prancing Horse family.
Victorious twice at Le Mans, once in Hypercar and once in LMP2, during the 2020 edition, Phil Hanson also won the Britcar Endurance Championship in 2016, the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) in LMP3 during the 2016-17 season, as well as the same championship in LMP2 in 2018-2019. ELMSHe clinched the title in 2020, achieving the same feat in the WEC in the LMP2 category concurrently. Added to this is the independent teams title, won with AF Corse, in the FIA WEC last year.
And Antonello Coletta, global director of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, added: “After a successful season with the AF Corse team, during which he not only won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the No. 83 499P, but also demonstrated great consistency and excellent performances throughout the championship, finishing second in the World Drivers' Championship standings with his teammates, Phil has earned the full confidence of Ferrari. We are therefore delighted to welcome him to our family within the group of official drivers, confident that the journey we are about to embark on will continue to be successful, as will the 2025 season.”
