The start of the 2025 Fuji 6 Hours was relatively uneventful with no incidents to report. The two Cadillacs maintained their Hyperpole advantage with Will Stevens ahead of Sébastien. BourdaisBehind them, Paul di Resta overtook Marco Sørensen (Aston Martin) at the start to place the Peugeot No. 93 in third place.
Stevens quickly took a lead over Bourdais. Harry Tincknell lost places after a spin in the final sector, taking Kevin Magnussen (BMW) with him. The two drivers left in the last two positions of the category.
After several skirmishes, Sébastien Buemi (Toyota) and Ferdinand Habsburg (Alpine) collided after 15 minutes of racing, causing a puncture on the rear left of the Japanese prototype and a first Full Course Yellow. Alpine had to change the front of the No. 35 after this collision. After regaining third place, Sørensen lost several positions after a drive-through for violating the FCY, finding himself last.
In LMGT3, Anthony McIntosh, who started from pole position in the No. 10 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin Vantage, quickly fell down the standings. The two McLaren United Autosports' No. 95 took the lead with James Cottingham ahead of Darren Leung. However, the British manufacturer's No. 95 car lost a lot after a penalty for a flying start. The No. 59 car leads the LMGT3 class at the end of the first hour.
The first hour of the race ended under Safety Car conditions due to debris left on the track by the #15 BMW and the aforementioned #007 Aston Martin.
