After a safety car, the race resumed at the start of the second hour. Paul di Resta took advantage of the restart to overtake Sébastien Bourdais and place the Peugeot No. 93 in second place. The Frenchman lost his place on the podium shortly after, also being overtaken by Antonio Giovinazzi (Ferrari No. 51).

La Toyota No. 8, already 16th, received a three-minute stop-and-go for a Full Course Yellow violation. She is now relegated to last position, two laps behind the leader.

The second hour of racing ended with a major crash for Raffaele Marciello. The Swiss driver lost control of the #15 BMW on cold tires in the final sector after an untimely braking action by the Porsche Proton Competition's No. 99 prototype crashed into the wall. A Safety Car was deployed. In the confusion, the customer Porsche regained control of the race by being the last to pass the pit lane.

In LMGT3, James Cottingham is demonstrating. The Bronze driver of the McLaren No. 59 handed the wheel to Frenchman Sébastien Baud with a lead of more than 35 seconds over the Iron Dames' No. 85 Porsche, which had moved up to second place after starting second from last.
