6 Hours of Imola – FP3: Ferrari regains control, Genesis surprises

This was the final stretch before the first qualifying rounds of the 2026 season. WECFree Practice 3 for the 6 Hours of Imola took place this Saturday morning in Italy and Classic Ferrari for sale once again distinguished himself at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari.

In front of its fans, the trans brandalpine secured a one-two finish with the #50 499P of Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco, and Miguel Molina in 1:30.37, ahead of the #51 of James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi, and Alessandro Pier Guidi by three tenths. Leading Free Practice 2, Alpine remains on the podium of this session with the No. 35 of António Félix da Costa, Charles Milesi and Ferdinand Habsburg.

The pleasant surprise of the morning came from Genesis. The newcomer to the Hypercar category placed one of its cars 12th with the #19 GMR-001 driven by Daniel Juncadella, Mathieu Jaminet, and Paul-Loup Chatin, 1.23 seconds off the fastest time. The Korean manufacturer thus finished ahead of a Peugeot , a Alpinea BMW and a Aston Martin with this performance. The German manufacturer experienced several problems: one on the radiator of car #15, while Robin Frijns reported vibrations in the transmission on car #20.

In LMGT3, the #27 Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 of Mattia Drudi, Zacharie Robichon, and Ian James dominated the category with a time of 1:41.97. Corvette and Mercedes Benz completed the podium.
