The Balance of Performance (BoP) of the 6H of Fuji, seventh and penultimate round of the 2024 season of the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC) was unveiled this Tuesday, just three days before the first Free Practice in Japan.

For her home race – where she remains undefeated since 2016 – Toyota is the team most (negatively) impacted by this BoP for the Japanese round, it which had won in São Paulo before failing to take 2nd place in Austin because of a penalty. Compared to Lone Star Le Mans, the reigning world champion GR010 will be 5 kg heavier, as well as a power loss of 4 kW (5,5 horsepower) below the speed of 250 km/h. Its power above this speed is however revised upwards, with a power increase of 5,4% (compared to 4,6% in Austin), and the energy on board per relay has been increased to 908 MJ.

In Japan, on the other hand, Peugeot will receive an even more favorable BoP than in Texas. The 9X8, struggling on the Circuit of the Americas, will be lightened by an additional 7 kg and thus becomes the lightest Hypercar on the grid, tied with the Lamborghini SC63 (1030 kg each). The French car also gains 4 kW of power under the 250 km/h mark and sees its onboard energy per relay increase by 1 MJ to 903 MJ.

Among other competitors, Ferrari will not be penalized further despite its victory in Austin: the 499P retains the same power, the same weight and the same energy carried by relay. However, it loses a little power above 250 km/h (+1,3% instead of +1,9% in the United States). The Porsche 963 also receives a more favorable BoP with 4 kg less than Texas, but also gains 3 kW of power under the speed of 250 km/h. Finally, theAlpine A424 will gain a small kilo at Fuji, but will recover 3 kW of power under 250 km/h. In the Hypercar, the most powerful mounts will be the Cadillac V-Series.R and the Lamborghini SC63 in Japan, with a power of 520 kW.
