The British brand, committed to the pinnacle of the discipline with its road-derived LMH hypercar, has chosen stability to continue the ramp-up of its ambitious program.

The official stable Aston Martin THOR will once again rely on the British duo Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell in the Valkyrie #007. Ross Gunn will continue to support the crew in certain rounds of the WECOn the No. 009, Spaniard Alex Riberas and Dane Marco Sørensen are also returning, with Canadian Roman De Angelis providing reinforcement during events requiring a third man.

« By 2025, we had grown tremendously as a team. We had achieved a great deal, but we had also learned a tremendous amount. " underlines Ian James, head of Aston Martin THOR. The pilots exceeded our expectations, especially in the early stages of the project where we had to dig very deep. All of this allowed us to build an extremely valuable foundation of understanding and knowledge about the Valkyrie. In 2026, we will further exploit its potential, and we have complete confidence in our crews to achieve even more. »

The Valkyrie, the first LMH category hypercar designed by Aston Martin and the only car on the grid based on a road-legal model, made its competitive debut at the 1812 km Qatar Rally last February. Throughout the season, the two green prototypes have become more competitive, racking up over 22,000 miles of racing – including the 24 Hours of Le Mans – to establish the brand in a continuous progression.

The results of this first campaign are encouraging: several points finishes, a better result in the WEC with a 5th place at the 6 Hours of Fuji, and a notable performance in Bahrain where Alex Riberas led the race for the first time before finishing 7th. Across the Atlantic, the Valkyrie secured its first podium finish at Petit Le Mans. IMSA, missing out by less than five seconds on a historic victory with De Angelis, Gunn and Riberas.

At Le Mans, the two hypercars completed their first participation without incident, finishing 12th and 14th, giving Aston Martin its first points in the Hypercar Manufacturers' Championship. This bodes well for 2026, where stability and experience should allow the Valkyrie to take another step forward.
