There is movement at Peugeot This winter. Following the announcement of Jean-Marc Finot's retirement and the appointment of Olivier Jansonnie as head of Stellantis Motorsport, the Sochaux-based firm continues to reshape its organizational chart.
Jansonnie, previously team principal, is replaced by Emmanuel Esnault, who will take over as team principal of Peugeot TotalEnergies for the 2026 season. WEC. Passed at McLaren en F1 or at Lamborghini and Iron Lynx in endurance racing, the Frenchman will bring his expertise to the team, which is chasing its first victory with the 9X8.

Esnault will take up his duties in January 2026, at which time Olivier Jansonnie will succeed Jean-Marc Finot on the 31st of the month. “We are delighted to welcome Emmanuel Esnault as Team Principal of Team Peugeot TotalEnergies,” Jean-Marc Finot is praising. “His experience will be essential in strengthening and guiding our strategy as he takes on the mission of supporting the ambitious objectives set by the Peugeot brand. In a championship where competition between manufacturers is particularly intense and where the grid has never been so competitive, we have every confidence in his ability to move the team forward and support our continued progress in the FIA WEC. This appointment is part of Olivier Jansonnie’s assumption of the role of head of Stellantis Motorsport on February 1, 2026.”
In addition to a revamped organizational chart, Peugeot also made significant changes to its driver lineup: Nick Cassidy and Theo Pourchaire inherited full-time seats, while Jean-Éric Vergne moves into a reserve role and Mikkel Jensen leaves the Lion to probably head to McLaren, while he will compete in the ALMS this season with United Autosports, the team of Richard Dean and Zak Brown.
