Without surprise, Toyota made in continuity. The Japanese manufacturer will defend its Constructors' title with the same six men as in 2024. Mike conway, Kamui Kobayashi et Nyck de Vries will still be together at the wheel of the GR010 Hybrid n°7 while Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa will continue to be associated on No. 8.
« We have a top-class line-up in both cars, and I'm happy to be part of it again in 2025, says Kamui Kobayashi, Team Principal and driver of the #7. The team spirit and cooperation between all the drivers, and the team in general, grows with every race and every season. Thanks to the great support from everyone at Toyota, as well as our partners, we have achieved good results this year, but we are determined to achieve more. Competing in the Hypercar category in WEC is a big challenge and we are up against some very strong competition, but as a team we are continually striving to do even better at every event. I expect that to continue next season, with a cohesive line-up of drivers who know how to work together – as a driver line-up, as a team and as part of the Toyota family – to succeed in endurance racing. I know the whole team is excited about the challenge in 2025. »
« I am obviously delighted to continue driving the No. 7 car with Toyota Gazoo Racing in 2025, adds Mike Conway. It’s been a pleasure to be part of this team for 10 years and I really feel like part of the family. It’s been an interesting year for us, but I think as a crew we’ve gotten along really well and have a lot of fun together, with a strong team spirit. We inspire each other, we push each other to always be the best we can be, and it’s really enjoyable. I can’t wait for 2025 to begin. »
« I'm delighted to stay in the #7 car with Mike and Kamui, explains Nyck de Vries. We had a good first season together. Of course, we had our ups and downs, but overall it was a great experience. I look forward to being part of this team in 2025, it’s a real pleasure and an honour. Toyota Gazoo Racing has a long history and a great track record in the WEC, and we have a lot of ambitions ahead of us. We are determined to continue fighting for victories and championships. »
« This team is an integral part of my family, explains Sébastien Buemi. I grew up around Toyota as my family has owned a Toyota dealership for over 50 years, and I remember having my picture taken next to the GT-One at the Geneva Motor Show as a child. It’s great to have been part of the team since the first season in 2012, having achieved many good results during that time. Thanks to everyone at Toyota Gazoo Racing for giving me the opportunity to aim for another Le Mans win and the World Championship. »
« I am very happy to continue with Toyota Gazoo Racing and I am grateful to the team and Toyota for this opportunity, says Brendon Hartley. With the #8 car, the 2024 season was not ideal and, despite the fact that we started the season as champions and with hopes for Le Mans, things haven't always gone the way we wanted. But we are very motivated and I really believe in the people around me. I am very excited to fight for another championship and Le Mans together in 2025. »
« I am happy to be part of Toyota Gazoo Racing in WEC for our fourth year together, says Ryo Hirakawa. Of course, our goal is to win Le Mans and the championship, even if it will be another difficult year with the arrival of a new manufacturer in Hypercar. But we know that we have the potential and the team spirit to achieve it. With the support of Toyota and our partners, I am confident that we will be strong and I am looking forward to it. »
