With 204 points accumulated over the entire season of WEC since its launch in Qatar, Ferrari has a concrete lead of 39 points over PorscheSecond in the standings, before heading into the Bahrain 8 Hours. With three victories to their name – two achieved by crew #51 and one by #50 – the red team is indeed performing better than their competitors. In this case, this gap was mainly built up during the first half of the season.
After winning the first three rounds in Qatar, Imola, and then Spa-Francorchamps, the AF Corse #83 then won the 24H of Le Mans, before seeing Cadillac, Porsche, then Alpine to make their anthems resound in São Paulo, Fuji, and Bahrain. In reality, Ferrari could still relinquish the crown in the event of a catastrophic scenario this weekend, but the pursuers will have to be particularly efficient.
Porsche needs to make up 39 points
With 165 points, the Porsche crews will be eager to finish the season on a high note in this final race. Beyond simply closing a chapter, the German marque is also preparing to bring an era to a close. The Stuttgart-based company's involvement will end after this race, even though the No. 6 Porsche is among the most competitive on the grid at the end of the season.
On the track, crews #5 and #6 must finish at least 1ster and 9e if Ferrari were to fail to score any points. Otherwise, pole position could allow them to place their Hypercars in 1st place.st and 8e positions, relegating Ferrari to 9the rank. In other scenarios leading Porsche to the final victory, the Germans should hypothetically place at least one of their cars in the lead or on the podium, hoping for a relative underperformance from Ferrari.

Scenarios in which Porsche would clinch the title at the end of the 8 Hours of Bahrain
- Porsche 1st and 9e and Ferrari scores no points
- Porsche in pole position, 1st and 8e and Ferrari 9e or worse
- Porsche 2e and 4e and Ferrari did not achieve pole position, while finishing 9the or worse
- Porsche 2e and 5e and Ferrari finished 10the or worse
- Porsche 3e and 4e and Ferrari scores no points (Cadillac therefore does not have to achieve a one-two finish).
- Porsche 1er and 10e and Ferrari scores no points
- Porsche 1er and 8e and Ferrari finished 10the or worse
- Porsche 1er or 7e and Ferrari finished 9the or worse
Cadillac must achieve this feat.
Even more improbably, the winning crew in São Paulo must at least replicate its historic performance if it hopes to propel Cadillac to the top. Having notably secured pole position at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the American manufacturer will be witnessing Jenson Button's final race. World Champion of F1 In 2009, the Briton announced his intention to end his career after this race, meaning he would have to do everything he could to finish on a high note. However, in many respects, the Balance of Performance (BoP) doesn't seem to bolster Cadillac's hopes. The task could become particularly difficult from this perspective.

I really hope Ferrari will win the title... like in '67 when Chris Amon and Jackie Stewart with the fabulous P4 allowed Ferrari to win this coveted title by finishing 2nd behind the Chaparral.

This Balance of Performance (BoP)... it's a real... mess! There should be races with equal opportunities for everyone... On paper... Ferrari/Porsche/Cadillac... the surprise! But let's not forget... Alpine And Peugeot? 😎👀🧐👀🍾 …….
