Paul-Loup Chatin, Jules Gounon, Mick Schumacher, Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg and finally Frédéric Makowiecki. These are the six drivers who will compete in the 2025 season of the WEC under the colors Alpine. Nothing new, since the line-up of the A fléché was unveiled last November, including the officialization of the recruitment of the latter from PorscheHowever, the unknown was the distribution of these six drivers in the two French Hypercars, No. 35 and 36. A distribution finally revealed this Wednesday.

As expected, Alpine has chosen stability on the A424 n°35 since, as in 2024, it will be driven by the same trio composed of Paul-Loup Chatin, Charles Milesi and Ferdinand Habsburg. On the n°36, we will therefore find Mick Schumacher who will this time be accompanied by two new teammates, Jules Gounon (reserve driver ofAlpine in 2024) and therefore, the new recruit Frédéric Makowiecki. Matthieu Vaxivière, a starter last year on board the n°36, remains in the fold Alpine and will act as test and reserve driver in the event of one of the six drivers involved withdrawing.

Stability at Alpine in 2025.

“There are several aspects, it includes the size [of the drivers]. On the No. 35 it is quite extreme because we have Charles [Milesi] who is quite small and Paul-Loup [Chatin], but they managed to manage that quite well last year. It is something we took into consideration, but it was not a sticking point, has explained Nicolas lapierre, sports director ofAlpine Endurance Team, with several media including AUTOhebdo on the repair of driversThe most important thing for us is the feeling between the drivers, how they interact with each other."

“On the #35 last year, it was a pleasure to work with them. They really collaborated with each other in good times and bad, and we were very pleased with the way they handled it last season. For us, regarding this car, it was a pretty logical choice, especially since we are keeping the same race engineers and the same staff. It is very important for us to keep this balance. We know it works, it will work even better this year because they know each other well. It is an obvious choice.”

After revealing its livery and therefore its crews for the 2025 WEC season, Alpine can now fully concentrate on the first meeting of the championship. After final private tests in Monza, the French team will fly to Qatar and the Losail circuit, the scene of the first round of the 2025 World Endurance Championship with the 1812 km of Qatar (February 28).
