Could the A with the arrow leave the WEC circuits, and therefore be conspicuous by its absence from the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 2027 onwards?

This is the hypothetical and worrying scenario that was raised on the internet last week following leaks published by our colleagues at The Race.

According to our inquiries, the efforts ofAlpine The plans for the Hypercar are not currently being called into question. However, it is true that a delay had been requested by the Group. Renault with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) before finalizing the registration of the two A424s on the entry list for the 2026 season WECthat was a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, contracts for drivers currently under the blue banner are signed for several years, an element which would therefore tend to reassure fans of the Dieppe firm.

Even though we know perfectly well that contracts only have relative value in how manufacturers perceive the relevance of an official commitment to current motorsport, then, an idyllic performance from the Alpine It is hoped that this will happen in the WEC and in the Sarthe region in the coming months.

‼️ News ‼️. (February 10th) And these aren't rumors, unfortunately ‼️. A statement is expected on the 12th from the Renault Group to announce the end of the WEC program at the end of 2026… Also from reliable sources, explanations are expected regarding the end of Renault F1 (for the engines).
