Alpine won the 6 Hours of Fuji this Sunday with the No. 35 of Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg and Paul-Loup Chatin! Behind during the first part of the race, the trio took advantage of a Safety Car deployed 2 hours and 30 minutes from the finish to come back to second position behind the Peugeot 9X8 No. 93 of Mikkel Jensen, Jean-Éric Vergne and Paul di Resta. Returning to a good strategic window, the team with the arrowed A decided to change only the tires on the left side, while the car of the Lion firm changed all four tires. This strategic choice gave the advantage to the A424, Milesi leaving the pits in first position with a margin of around ten seconds and an hour still to go. The Frenchman did not drop his pace, also benefiting from the fight between Peugeot and Porsche behind him.
In this fight for second place, Jensen held off Laurens Vanthoor until the checkered flag. Led by a wild Kévin Estre, the No. 6 Porsche came back from the penultimate position on the grid to finish on the podium. With the fourth place of Julien Andlauer and Mathieu Jaminet, the Stuttgart firm regained 26 points on Ferrari in the Constructors' Championship. The Italian firm completely missed its Japanese meeting, between a lack of pace and repeated errors from its drivers, scoring only one small unit. Everything will therefore be decided at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, on November 8.
Starting from the front row, the Cadillac V-Series.Rs collapsed in the race with seventh place for the No. 12 of Alex Lynn, Norman Nato and Will Stevens as the best result.Aston Martin Valkyrie No. 009 of Alex Riberas and Marco Sorensen failed to confirm its third place in Hyperpole with several costly mistakes on track.
In LMGT3, the #21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 crossed the line in first place, but victory went to the Corvette Z06.R of Charlie Eastwood, Tom van Rompuy and Rui Andrade after a five-second penalty for the Prancing Horse car.

I didn't follow the race but I'm very surprised by the result, how was the BOP this weekend? Favorable to the Caddies, Astons, Peugeots and Alpine ?

Yes, yes! I really don't regret setting my alarm for 3:45 a.m., well done to Alpine even if the main part of the result is to be put down to a pit stop miraculously carried out under FCY, it was necessary to dare to have only 2 tires for the last stint, as for Peugeot, "try again little beetle" it will end up working, 3rd in Austin, 2nd here, 1st for the last one??! It's only my opinion but this 100th race of the WEC is worthy, finally, of what the ACO/FIA has been trying in vain to sell us since the creation of this Hypercar championship
