The last two Hypercar drivers are known! The unknown still concerned the last two drivers of the Proton Competition crew, who were revealed this Tuesday alongside the entry list for the 1812 km of Qatar (February 29 – March 2). Julien Andlauer and Neel Jani will join Harry Tincknell in the Porsche n ° 99 in WEC.

The Frenchman will experience his first campaign in the premier category ofEndurance. Loyal to Porsche since his debut in PCCF in 2016, then to Proton Competition since 2018, the Lyonnais is logically rewarded with a seat in Hypercar after a solid season in 2023 (4th in GTE Am, a victory at Monza).

Andlauer, 11th Frenchman on the Hypercar grid

Julien Andlauer also had the opportunity to test the Porsche 963 during the Rookie Test organized by the WEC in Bahrain last November. He made his debut in LM P2 in December at Sepang (Malaysia), during the opening round of the Asian Le Mans Series, always with Proton. By joining the Hypercar field, the Tricolore becomes the 11th Frenchman registered on the list of Hypercar entries: France is therefore the nation most represented among drivers in the category.

Neel Jani will also bring all his experience alongside his two teammates. At 40, the Swiss is embarking on a new campaign in the upper echelons of the WEC, having won the world champion title and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 with Porsche. Last year, he participated in the last three rounds of the championship with the new Porsche 963 operated by Proton Competition.

The rest of the entry list is unsurprising, all the other drivers having been announced ahead of the publication of the list. There will therefore be 37 cars at the start of the 1812 km of Qatar, including 19 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3s.
