André Lotterer will compete on June 15 and 16 for his thirteenth 24 Hours of Le Mans. The German has already won three times in Sarthe, in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Each time he was accompanied by Marcel Fässler and Benoît Tréluyer. An obviously unique memory in his career.

« The first victory at Le Mans and the way to achieve it was epic, the 42-year-old driver often speaks in comments relayed by the FIA ​​WEC website. There is also Japan. I only went there for one year, but I stayed there for 15 years! I'm satisfied when I look back, but you know, as a racing driver we always want more, to achieve more. You are always looking for opportunities. I don't feel like I'm at retirement age yet. I still want to run. Ten years ago, I thought about retiring at 45, but if I'm still fast, why not continue? »

During the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, Lotterer, who grew up in Belgium, paid tribute to his idol Jacky Ickx, six times victorious in the Sarthe (1969, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981 and 1982).

“I rode with his colors on a helmet similar to his […] When I met him for the first time at Le Mans a few years ago, I told him that I grew up in Belgium and that I was a fan of his. Then, before I knew it, we found ourselves having dinner together. I respect his career enormously, his versatility and what he's done, but also as a person, he's an impressive human being. »

Associated with Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor on the Porsche No. 6, André Lotterer will have the opportunity to add a fourth success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
