Team, driver, chassis… Who will accompany Ford in Hypercar?

Similar to Genesis' initial announcement in September 2024, Ford has not provided further details on its future program. No operating team, chassis partner or driver names have been released. Here is our list of potential candidates.

Team, driver, chassis… Who will accompany Ford in Hypercar?

Ford has always maintained strategic agreements with leading teams and technical suppliers. For example, Multimatic, which played a crucial role in the success of the Ford GT in the mid-2010s, could be an ideal partner to develop a prototype that complies with LMDh regulations. The Canadian brand is already responsible for the chassis of the Porsche 963 and runs official Ford Mustang GT3s in IMSAIt would therefore be a logical candidate to be the technical partner of the future LMDh with the blue oval.

But to what extent can Porsche veto this romance? Other rumors, very serious, say that Oreca would be in the running to be this design office. Which would push to four the number of manufacturers supported by the French company, after Acura, Alpine and Genesis. A record! Are we slowly heading towards a new Oreca monopoly in LMDh as in LM P2 in the past? We are not there yet
