It was a perfectly oiled machine, right up to the final moments of the 8 Hours of Bahrain. Then in third position, the Ferrari Car #51 was able to let its sister car, #50, pass to take the final step on the podium. As a result, car #50 secured third place in the Drivers' World Championship for its crew of Nicklas Nielsen, Miguel Molina, and Antonio Fuoco, marking a historic 1-2-3 finish for Ferrari, who also clinched the Constructors' title.
The drivers' accolades went to Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and James Calado, who were, in a way, the ones who launched Ferrari's Hypercar project. These three drivers were, in fact, the first to triumph in the... 24 Hours of Le Mansin 2023, before car #50 and then #83 won the last two editions. Despite already being a three-time world champion (in LMGTE), Calado acknowledged the particularly emotional nature of triumphing in the premier category: "It's very emotional. I called my children even before the end of the race and I was already in tears. It's incredible to win a fourth world title, the first in the premier category!"
Passed by the Formula 1Antonio Giovinazzi also savored this world title, which propels him into another dimension. The Italian rider clearly couldn't have imagined anything better than becoming world champion with a Prancing Horse on his racing suit…
“I feel great! I’m really happy, it’s a great mix of emotions. It was a long day, certainly the longest eight hours of my life, but probably one of the best days of my life. I’m very proud of the whole team; we won both titles, it’s fantastic. Being world champion has always been a dream, and with Ferrari, you couldn’t ask for anything better.”
In four seasons, Ferrari's record in the FIA WEC Ferrari currently boasts three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a constructors' title, and a 1-2-3 finish in the drivers' championship. Given the versatility of the 499P at the start of the season, and the way the Maranello-based team managed a more challenging second half of the season, there's no telling whether the trophy cabinet will continue to grow in 2026…

Despite the grumblers who criticize everything and those who dislike success (so typically French), the best teams won by overcoming the specificities of the regulations. Well done Ferrari, well done to the Scuderia, to Colleta and the entire team. Very proud of their WEC Championship victories.

Why stay in F1 when titles and successes are piling up in the WEC, and for much less money? Ferrari's historical glory comes more from prototypes and victories at Le Mans than from F1.

It's a shame it's so heavily tainted by the FIA (Ferrari International Assistance)... without that, the emotion would be purer...
