In 2025, Alpine has progressed. Seeking its first WEC victory, the A424 version achieved its goal, in addition to securing two other podium finishes earlier in the year. Although the French manufacturer only managed 86 points, the moments of glory arrived.

Between 2024 and 2025, the progression appears clear for Alpine en WEC. even though 24H of Le Mans Although they may have once again disappointed fans of the brand with the arrow, the entire season was paved with promises in terms of performance, some of which were kept. Besides the victory at Fuji, the first for theAlpine A424 in the World ChampionshipEndurance, the podium finishes came to litter a year that seemed to deserve an even better outcome.

Indeed, with 86 points in the Constructors' standings, Alpine ultimately finished ahead of BMW (85 points), and the newcomer, Aston Martinwith 22 points. Despite another season that was complex in some respects, Peugeot notably managed to finish fifth, with 92 units, including two podium finishes this year. However, the 2026 season looks promising for the brand linked to Renaultwhose first victory could make all the difference.

In Imola, the first glimmers of hope

Won by the Classic Ferrari for sale The #51 499P of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, and James Calado, competing on home soil, the second round of the 2025 WEC season, produced a somewhat surprising result. Despite a relatively uneventful race in terms of overtaking, theAlpine No. 36 led by Mick SchumacherJules Gounon and Frédéric Makowiecki had their first benchmark result a few months before Le Mans.

Starting sixth thanks to Mick Schumacher's performance the previous day in Hyperpole, the No. 36 car notably benefited from the misfortune of the No. 83 AF Corse, but also from the position losses of the two Toyota in the front.

Spa, expectations and confirmation

A few weeks later, Spa-Francorchamps almost felt like the prelude to a first World Championship victory. Just minutes before the finish, the mandatory pit stop for the...Alpine No. 36 – once again driven by Mick Schumacher in the final moments of the race – cost the blues an even better result.

Finishing third, the crew, who had already reached the podium at Imola, arrived at Le Mans full of hope. Although the French race was tinged with disappointment for Alpine, Spa hinted at a performance and pure speed capable of competing with Ferrari, who were untouchable at this stage of the season.

Fuji, the crowning achievement

If speed has been the main ally ofAlpine At Spa-Francorchamps, strategy became the X factor in the only victory of the season. At Fuji, while the #36 crew had gained the upper hand during the year, it was the #35 Hypercar that qualified best the day before the race.

Starting ninth, the duo Paul-Loup Chatin, Charles Milesi and Ferdinand Habsburg managed to put in place a perfectly executed strategic move, capable of surpassing the Peugeot No. 93 which was in front after the deployment of the Safety Car.

Choosing to change only the tires on the left side – whereas Peugeot changed all four tires on the 9X8, Alpine secured its first victory with the A424, on the occasion of the 100th race of the WEC in its current format. A truly symbolic success, this victory sees several drivers from the 2025 season leaving the team. Alpine for other adventures in the championship, but remains promising regarding the brand's ability to repeat this feat. Beyond the phenomenal results, the success of a better ranking will nevertheless depend on the pursuit of greater consistency over the next eight rounds of the 2026 season.
