Marino Sato will drive in the WEC with United Autosports

In 2023, the former pilot of Formula 2, aged 24, finished the season as LM P2 vice-champion of the European Le Mans Series for his first LM P2 campaign.

Marino Sato, along with co-drivers Oliver Jarvis and Phil Hanson, missed out on the championship title by just 13 points after taking three wins in the six races (4 Hours of Aragon, 4 Hours of Algarve, 4 Hours of Portimao) .

Originally announced in IMSA by the British team, Marino Sato will ultimately not ride in the North American championshipEndurance in 2024. The Japanese was recently reclassified Gold by the FIA, which reopens the Silver seat. The new driver will be announced later.
