CLEME30190 I was talking about his direct teammates, namely Mako and Gounon. Milesi and Chatin in the other car, I'd put them in the top 3 of the 6 drivers Alpine with Schumacher, Milesi as number 1... I followed the whole season ofAlpine So I can say that Schumacher's teammates were slower than him. Mako is an excellent, consistent driver and a good setup driver, but he lacks pure speed, and Gounon made quite a few small mistakes that often penalized the crew... As for the "victory" ofAlpine I wouldn't call that one (even if they managed the ending well to preserve it). But when you remember where the...Alpine Before this Safety Car, and the absurd decision to close the pit lane, preventing the leaders from refueling, well, it yielded an unexpected and not exactly deserved result... The team's podium finishes and other strong showings were far more convincing... As for Alpine Sorry, but without Philippe Sinnault, who brought the brand back with his Signatech structure, even though the manufacturer was putting almost nothing into this program, the brand Alpine wouldn't even be present. And it's fortunate that there's expertise involved, because otherwise there wouldn't have been the recent investments in Signatech's capital. Alpine seems bankable in performance like that but Chatin prefers to join the new Genesis project just like Jaminet.

@Bisous You are "right" Alpine Wait, what? They only won the 6 Hours of Fuji on Toyota's home turf... Oh yeah, there was a certain Paul Loup Chatin, a very slow driver as everyone knows, compared to Schmi Jr. or even Charles Milesi, who also can't drive... I was afraid when they hired Jr. that he'd be a complete mess like in F1 when he got behind the wheel; I have to admit I was wrong about that... He's become a good WEC driver, but please don't compare him to Paul Loup, Charles, Ferdinand... Remind me how many wins Peugeot has had since they joined the WEC, or BMW for that matter

And he's right, it doesn't make sense to stay in the WEC with only 8 races a year (he should have done what some drivers did and race in IMSA), not to mention the trios as crews; duos would be better suited to 6-hour races. His teammates, although good drivers, didn't have his speed; his night stint at Le Mans was praised. What's a shame is that he has the talent to be an excellent endurance driver, but in a top team...Alpine Uh, yeah, whatever... Good luck to him in IndyCar.
