New change of program for the WEC Prologue

On Friday, the FIA ​​confirmed the postponement of the Prologue of the 2024 season of the World ChampionshipEndurance of the two-day FIA. Initially scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, this will finally take place on Monday February 26 and Tuesday February 27 on the Losail circuit, in Qatar, a few days before the launch of the season. This program, initially scheduled for Saturday February 24 and Sunday February 25, was modified due to a delay in maritime freight due to the current situation in the Red Sea where many ships have been targeted since November by Yemen's Houthi rebels.

At the end of Saturday afternoon, the championship announced a new change of program. Driving is still planned for Monday and Tuesday, but the four sessions initially planned have been transformed into three. Two will take place on Monday: a first from 12:00 p.m. to 17:00 p.m. (local times, 10:00 a.m. to 15:00 p.m. in France) and a second from 18:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m. (16:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m. in France). The last session will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) on Tuesday morning. The driving time nevertheless remains similar to that of the previous program.

Finally, a new change of program was announced this Sunday morning. The first practice session is shortened from 14:00 p.m. to 17:00 p.m. (local time, 12:00 p.m. to 15:00 p.m. in France), but becomes optional. The second session on Monday keeps the previously announced times. The third practice session, scheduled for Tuesday morning, has been postponed from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.). Finally, a fourth driving session returns on Tuesday afternoon from 14:00 p.m. to 17:00 p.m. (12:00 p.m. to 15:00 p.m.), but, like the first, this one will be optional.
