The Automobile Club de l’Ouest press conference before the 24H of Le Mans is traditionally the opportunity to discover the calendar of the World Championship ofEndurance (WEC) for next season. And for 2025, very few changes are to be noted with a very stable calendar. As expected, there will still be eight rounds in the WEC next year, all the same as in 2024. Qatar will therefore open the 2025 season with first the Prologue organized over two days (February 21-22) before the start. kicks off the championship with the 1812km of Qatar.

Imola extended until 2028

The second meeting will take place in Imola (April 20), on the grounds of Ferrari. The WEC will therefore not return to Monza, and the ACO has even confirmed a contract extension with the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari until 2028! Last April, the Italian round offered a spectacular race, with unstable weather and many twists and turns. The ACO specifies, however, that “the Italian circuit is committed to improving the paddock infrastructure by building additional garages in particular”: in 2024, certain teams had to share a box between its two cars.

The WEC circus will then travel to Spa-Francorchamps (May 10) before going to Sarthe for the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will take place on June 14 and 15, 2025. For the first time since 2022, the date of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was not protected in relation to the Formula 1, and the Sarthe event will take place the same weekend as the Canadian Grand Prix (and also a date clash with theIndyCar and the race at Gateway).

After Le Mans, the championship will travel to São Paulo (July 13), Austin (September 7) and Fuji (September 28). Finally, the outcome of the 2025 season will take place as usual, in Bahrain (November 8) for an eight-hour race. Sakhir will also host the traditional Rookie Test the day after the event. Note that, as in 2024, there will also be a clash of dates between the WEC and the Formula E the weekend of July 12-13, where the 6h of São Paulo and the Berlin E-Prix double will take place at the same time.

“The 2025 FIA WEC calendar is a continuation of 2024, with eight rounds on the program around the world and on the most iconic circuits, rejoices Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. This 2025 season offers teams necessary stability as well as great exposure in key territories. 2023 was an exceptional season, 2024 a great vintage. 2025 will undoubtedly be the peak of endurance, with, in particular, the arrival ofAston Martin in Hypercar. See you next year to experience great motorsport moments. »
