THEAlpine A424 was not alone on the track at Paul-Ricard last week since the French Hypercar was accompanied by another LMDh: the Lamborghini SC63.

The Italian prototype was for the first time dressed in its green and black livery, decorated with the Italian flag, which was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 13. At the beginning of the month, the SC63 from the Taurus brand was seen on the Imola route, in its simplest carbon model. Andrea Caldarelli and Mirko Bortolotti, two of the official drivers confirmed for 2024 alongside the former F1 Romain Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat, then took turns at the wheel.

Unofficial photos and videos had already leaked in recent days on social networks, like the one below where we can see the Sant'Agata Bolognese Hypercar in action in the final turns of the Var circuit.

If theAlpine is only expected in the World ChampionshipEndurance next season, the Lamborghini SC63 will run on both sides of the Atlantic, both in WEC and IMSA with one copy in each championship. The transalpine manufacturer, associated with Iron Lynx for the operation of its prototype, should however not be present at the 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of January.

« For the moment, no, this is not planned, Giorgio Sanna, director of the Lamborghini sports section, told us last July. Currently, the car's debut is expected in Doha for the first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. For IMSA, it will be Sebring, the second IMSA Endurance round. We will see in the coming months what the results will be on the track. »

« The dream of participating in Daytona is still present, develops the Italian leader. However, we must also be consistent. This new project represents a real challenge with the time we have ahead of us. So we will see how the development will unfold. »

Two more drivers should be announced by the end of the year to complete the Lamborghini roster.
