One month after epic 24H of Le Mans and the triumph of Ferrari, the World ChampionshipEndurance is back on track this weekend with a highly anticipated return to South America. Ten years after leaving him, the WEC returns to Brazil and the Interlagos circuit, scene of the 6H of São Paulo.

Interlagos previously hosted the WEC between 2012 and 2014: Toyota, Audi and Porsche each have a victory to their credit in Brazil. This year, the Paulista track welcomes the 19 Hypercars and the 18 LMGT3s entered in the World Championship, with some modifications in the entry list. Forfeit for the 24 Hours of Le Mans following a fall while cycling, Mike conway is well announced in the No. 7 Toyota in the Hypercar category. Jose Maria Lopez, his replacement at Le Mans, will make his return in the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT87.

Proton Competition will only run with Neel Jani and Julien Andlauer since Harry Tincknell, the German team's usual third driver, will in fact be held back by his obligations to Ford in IMSA. The other modification concerns GT3 and the French team Akkodis ASP, which announced the departure of Timur Boguslavskiy. The driver from Kazan (Russia) will be replaced in Brazil by Clemens Schmid. The 33-year-old Austrian will not arrive in unfamiliar territory since it was he who had already replaced the ailing Timur Boguslavskiy during the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps last May.
