New test and development pilot Peugeot , Theo Pourchaire began his work with the French manufacturer. After discovering the driving of the French manufacturer's 9X8 during the Rookie Test of WEC In Bahrain, the Tricolore was once again at the wheel of the prototype during a session which took place in mid-December near Castellet.

"We've been driving a lot, which is very positive, explains Pourchaire after these tests at Paul-Ricard. We didn't have much downtime and that allowed all the drivers to do a lot of laps behind the wheel. It's the first time I've driven so much I think! It's positive because I have a lot to learn, whether it's in working with the engineers, the mechanics. But I also have to learn to drive this car which is totally new to me. It's a car with a lot of systems and technology to understand.

For the first time in his career, the 21-year-old driver had the opportunity to experience real night driving. I had already done some shopping F2 night, but with a lot of lighting, but here it's completely different, we're almost in the dark with just the headlights to light our way, He says. It's a different atmosphere. It was raining at the same time, around 2am so it wasn't easy but it was a really cool experience. It gave me a first real taste of what theEndurance ! »

The Formula 2 champion was in the middle of a discovery class within the Peugeot TotalEnergies team. "I'm learning from lap to lap and the team, like the other drivers, are helping me a lot to understand things and adapt quickly, adds Pourchaire. In any case, it went really well, I get on well with everyone and I feel like I've been part of the team for a long time. Everything is very natural. It's good for me to be able to gain experience before the start of the season. When I go to the simulator, I will be able to correlate my feelings with those known on the tracks to work with the team to further improve the car."

The 2025 World Endurance Championship season will kick off on February 28 with the 1812 km of Qatar.
