Romain Dumas replaced Marc Lieb in the 919 Hybrid which finds itself in direct competition for first place with the sister car now driven by Brendon Hartley. The New Zealander took control of the event.

G-Drive Racing took the lead in LMP2 with Roman Rusinov at the wheel of the #2 Ligier JS P26 which is a few seconds ahead of the KCMG Oreca 05 now driven by Matthew Howson. The second Ligier from Gustavo Yacaman's G-Drive completes the top three in the category ahead of the Morgan from Team SARD Morand and theAlpine 450b.
Porsche also retains the lead in GTE Pro with the 911 RSR n°91 of Richard Lietz which is ahead of the Ferrari n°71 by Davide Rigon. The No. 92 led by Patrick Pilet moved up to 3rd position after receiving a drive-through at the start of the race. Aston Martin took the lead in GTE Am with the #98 of Paul Dalla-Lana which has one stop less than the 911 RSR from Abu Dhabi Proton Racing.
