Although it is no longer updated before each event on the calendar, it was agreed by the championship that the Balance of Performance (BoP) would evolve after the 24 Hours of Le Mans to rebalance performances (the BoP had already been reviewed just before the Le Mans double clock). The data collected during the Centenary of the Sarthe classic were thus correlated with those of the simulation tools with a view to the last three rounds of the season: the 6 Hours of Monza (July 9), the 6 Hours of Fuji (September 10) and the 8 Hours of Bahrain (November 4).

BoP adjustment for Bahrain

Ferrari thus sees himself added 11 kilos more compared to his victory during the Centenary to reach 1075 kilograms with 4 kW less power, while the rival Toyota benefits from 2 kW more and 4 MJ maximum energy per additional relay. At the house of Peugeot , a small kilo is removed on the 9×8 compared to its weight in Sarthe, for 4 kW more and a hybrid trigger speed lowered to 135 km/h on a dry track.

Two adjustments were nevertheless applied in view of the final of this 2023 season, concerning the two LMDh manufacturers. Initially planned at 1037 kg and 1053 kg, the American V-Series.R and the German 963 will both be relieved of an additional 7 kilograms. Which brings the first named to 1030 kg and the second to 1046 kg. Compared to the 6 Hours of Fuji, this corresponds to 9 kg less for the manufacturer from Detroit (Michigan) and 8 kg less for the manufacturer from Stuttgart (Germany).

Both will also have to do with 1 MJ less maximum energy per relay.

Enough to allow the LMDh to finally be able to claim a victory this season? Let us remember that Porsche was surprisingly competitive by leading the first half of the Japanese event. On the Cadillac side, the races which followed the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (3rd) were much more complicated with two consecutive tenth places at Monza and Fuji.

Despite the presence of Glickenhaus in these tables, the 007 LMH will not be present in the Kingdom of the Two Seas. Jim Glickenhaus even recently confirmed the absence of his team for the 2024 season. The entry list for the 8 Hours of Bahrain can be found here.
