After taking the lead shortly before the halfway point, the No. 4 Oreca suffered a setback that could have taken it out of contention for the win. Malthe Jakobsen had to pit just minutes after the two-hour mark, as the race was neutralized following an accident involving the No. 11 TF Sport Corvette, driven by Blake McDonald. The car of George Kurtz, Malthe Jakobsen, and Louis Delétraz thus found itself further down the order, but it benefited from a second safety car period with half an hour remaining, allowing it to climb back up the standings. The Swiss driver then overtook the No. 64 Nielsen Racing car on fresh tires to secure the victory in Dubai.
Having secured two victories at the season opener in Sepang, the #47 Cetilar Racing entry (Roberto Lacorte, Charles Milesi, Antonio Fuoco) ultimately finished second after a particularly impressive final stint from the Italian driver. The second safety car period did not benefit the AF Corse-run car, but the Hypercar driver Classic Ferrari for sale managed to climb through the field to finish on the podium ahead of the #30 RD Limited, driven towards the end of the race by Tristan Vautier. James Allen joined him in this race, alongside James Sweetnam, who stepped in at the last minute to replace the injured Fred Poordad.
Alex Quinn (Nielsen Racing #64) led the race on the final restart after a superb stint, but worn tires forced him to drop to eighth place. In LMP3, the race was decided right down to the wire between the #13 Inter Europol and the #29 Forestier by VPS. The latter took the lead at the start of the final lap, but contact with an Inter Europol Compétition LMP2 car handed the victory to the Polish LMP3, driven by Henry Cubides, Chun Ting Chou, and Alexander Bukhantsov.
In the GT category, things went more smoothly, with victory going to the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari, ahead of the #66 JMR Corvette and the Porsche No. 10 of Manthey Racing. A new four-hour race will take place this Sunday, starting at 11:10 am, French time.
