Leading since the end of the first hour and the big stint of Omani driver Ahmad Al Harthy, the 99 Racing team won the 4 Hours of Dubai, third round of the 2023-2024 Asian season. Le Mans Series, this Sunday, February 4. Well installed in the lead after passing behind the wheel of Nikita mazepin, Louis Delétraz saw his lead at the head of the race disappear at the start of the last hour due to a Safety Car. The restart was the occasion for a big three-way fight between Tom Dillmann (DKR), Malthe Jakobsen (CrowdStrike by APR) and Julien Andlauer (Proton Competition) behind the Swiss.
It's the pilot Porsche who emerged victorious and was able to pursue the leader. The junction was made around twenty minutes from time, but the French never had the opportunity to attack. The Helvetian kept under control and accelerated to widen the gap once again and take cover before the checkered flag.
With this second victory, 99 Racing increases its lead at the top of the general classification and foresees an invitation to the next edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There are two rounds remaining next weekend in Abu Dhabi.
LM P2 classification:
COOL Racing won the LM P3 category without a shot with its duo formed by Alexander Bukhantsov and James Winslow.
In GT, it was the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Klaus Bachler, Aliaksandr Malykhin and Joel Sturm which won ahead of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO n°7 from Almanar Racing by GetSpeed.
